I was born and raised in Cagliari, in Italy, and although I love traveling around the world, Italy is where I always come back to. This is where my family and friends live; and the country I most enjoy exploring. I don’t just love exploring Italy: I also love letting the world know how fantastic Italy is – hence my blog – and I want to make sure you also fall in love with it.

You can always count on me being honest and straightforward. I won’t recommend places I wouldn’t visit myself; I won’t suggest places to stay where I wouldn’t sleep myself; and I will let you know if I think your Italy itinerary is too packed.

OPTION 1: FULL ITINERARY PLANNING

The best option if all you know is that you want to visit Italy, but feel overwhelmed with your Italy trip planning and would rather have an expert plan your Italy itinerary for you.

So, how does it work?

Once you send me a request asking me to plan your Italy holidays, I will send you a detailed questionnaire so that I can get a better understanding of your travel style, interests and tastes. This helps me determine what you wish to get out of your trip. I will also ask for the exact dates of your trip if you have them, so that I can prepare an itinerary well in advance for you.

*I recommend you start planning your trip to Italy at least 6 months in advance – more if you are looking to visit in the summer.

Here are the main things I need to know:

When you are thinking of traveling to Italy.
How long you are looking to visit.
Whether you are traveling alone or in a group.
Your budget.
Your travel style and preferred accommodation options.

Together with the questionnaire, I will be sending you an invoice with either a paypal/me link or my bank account information. Once I get the payment, I will get to work to create the best bespoke itinerary for you. If I have doubts while I am drafting it, I will reach out with additional questions.

Your itinerary will include:

A detailed PDF guide containing:
- A selection of accommodation options for any place you will be visiting. Take care to notice you will have to do the bookings yourself.
- A selection of daily activities, with options for guided tours if needed.
- Recommendations for local restaurants and local grocery shops if needed.
- Insightful local tips and hacks.
- Recommendations on the best car rental or public transport options if relevant.
- Driving / walking distances.
- If necessary, overview of the best flight options from your departure point.
Links to recommended sites where you can book the various services.

Once you receive and review your itinerary, I also offer a one-hour Zoom call for you to ask any additional questions.

OPTION 2: ITALY TRAVEL CONSULTATION

Are you feeling overwhelmed by your Italy trip planning? Do you know what kind of experience you’d like to have, but can’t come up with an itinerary? Want to brainstorm with a local? Then this is the best option for you.

Other than the information already available on this site and in our Facebook community, I am also available for private Italy travel consultations.

We can set up an online meeting so that you can receive one-on-one, tailored advice about your upcoming trip to Italy — especially if it’s your first time visiting.

So, how does my Italy travel consultation work?

Once you send me a request via email at [email protected] we find a suitable date and time for our video chat. I request advanced payment via bank wire.

Your Italy travel consultation will include:

Uninterrupted time with Claudia, the founder of Strictly Italy – an experienced travel consultant and travel writer. The session will be private for you and your travel group. I will share a link so that everyone in the group can join from their device. I will help you create a personalized itinerary, I will share all my local knowledge and answer your questions.
I will not book hotels and activities for you. I can share links for you to book independently.

To make the most of the consultancy, prepare a list of questions. If you have a rough itinerary, you can share it via email before our session – but due to time constraints I can’t promise I will read it!

You can literally ask whatever comes to mind. I may not have the answer to all your questions, but I will do my best to help!

With my knowledge of Italy, your itinerary will make logistical sense and you won’t spend unnecessary time moving around, but will have more time to explore in depth.

At the end of the call, you will get a detailed itinerary from me, with local tips on places to visit – beaches, archaeological sites, museums, wineries, small towns, etc. If relevant, I will also add recommendations for local tour guides, guided tours, and local tour companies.

How long should your consultation be?

It depends! Upon making your request, consider the following:

How long you wish to travel around Italy
How prepared your Italy itinerary already is
The level of detail you wish to have
How many more general questions you have

You can also book an initial consultancy and then arrange for a follow up call.

OPTION 3: ITINERARY REVIEW

The best option if you already know what places in Italy you would like to visit and have a rough Italy itinerary in mind; but you need an expert opinion to make sure it is actually doable.

So, how does this option work?

Let’s say you have already come up with an itinerary for your trip to Italy, but there are some aspects you aren’t too sure about.

You can share the itinerary with me (the more details you can include, the better) and, once I get your payment, I will share all my feedbacks, suggestions and recommendations and move things around (if necessary) to make sure the trip runs smoothly. I will share links to useful resources (posts on this blog, booking sites if needed, and more) to help you reserve everything. There is also room for additional questions, of course!

€350 + VAT (EU purchases only) for up to 10 days
An additional €15 + VAT (EU purchases only) per day for longer trips
*Advanced payment required via bank wire

*Delivery of your itinerary review will be within three weeks from the moment I receive the payment. For rush orders (one week or less) there will be a surcharge of 25% of the final cost.

OPTION 4: ACCOMMODATION CONSULTANCY

This is option is perfect if you need help picking your ideal base to explore Italy, and find the best accommodation deals for your trip, but you are happy to plan your daily activities.

So, how does this option work?

Once I receive your request I will send you a short list of questions. Your answers will give me a better idea of your travel style and interests. I need to be able to understand:

How long you plan to spend in Italy.
If you are willing to rent a car.
What budget you have for your accommodation.
Any place in Italy you really wish to visit.

Once I get your answers and payment, I will put together a selection of the best places to stay for your Italy trip, based on your budget. Let me stress I won’t be making any reservations, but I will share the links to the booking sites and you will have a selection of accommodation options to pick from.

I will send you a file in an email. The file will include:

Travel distance from one place to another if you plan on visiting a few destinations.
How long you should plan to stay at each destination.
A selection of places to stay in each destination.

I will be happy to answer any additional question you may have once you get your accommodation consultancy file.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I request to be paid in full, in advance via bank wire, upon sending you my invoice – and the payment is non-refundable. Once I receive the payment, I will confirm a submission date and will deliver by the deadline.

In the itinerary, I will share local tips and recommendations based on my experience or research, whenever relevant. I will provide share my suggestions to help you plan your perfect trip to Italy. You will be responsible to book your flights, room, rental car or train or bus, activities where bookings are necessary, day trips, restaurants, etc. I won’t provide recommendations about visa requirements or travel insurance.

The accommodation options and recommendations in your itinerary will reflect availability at the time of the research and are not guaranteed after the itinerary is submitted. I will point out any activity or attraction that must be booked in advance. In general, it is better that you book your flights, accommodation and car rental as early as possible for better deals and availability.

If for whatever reason you are unable to travel at the intended time and need to reschedule your trip to Italy, you can still use the suggested itinerary I have shared with you. If you need further help because of the rescheduling, I will offer you a discounted consultancy rate.

Once you receive your itinerary, we can schedule a one-hour call for any additional questions. If you need changes to your itinerary, I will send you a quote for any additional hours of work.

I decline any responsibility for any problem you may encounter during your Italy holidays with your transportation, hotel, restaurants, attractions and anything else that may go wrong.
